The switch to the new Google-based e-mail system is happening now. The old mail server is running again - old messages are not lost, but new messages are being sent to the new system.
1. Visit
www.carthage.edu/newmail
2. Log in using your username for the old Webmail e-mail. Your temporary password is your Carthage ID number.
3. You will likely be prompted to create a new password, which you should do. (You only need to do this once.)
4. Once you have done this, you are presented with a Google Apps screen that includes a link for Email. This is how you get to your new e-mail.
Don’t be alarmed if your inbox is empty. The goal is to have all future e-mails getting to your new account by noon on April 7.
Migrate your existing e-mail messages to the new Google-based Carthage e-mail:
a. Currently using Webmail? Fill out the form at
www.carthage.edu/migration to have your existing e-mails migrated over to the new MyCarthage system.
b. Currently using Outlook or another Windows-based desktop e-mail client? Google makes a migration tool for moving your existing e-mail into the new e-mail system:
sites.google.com/a/carthage.edu/carthageapps/outlook
c. Using something besides Webmail or a Windows-based e-mail client? See the link below.
